Malignant mesothelioma is a disease in which the pleura, that is the thin layer that protects the lungs and lines the chest cavity in the form of tissue, is occupied by the cancer (malignant) cells. The disease causes by the excessive inhalation of asbestos that will bring the cancer cells to grow more and more. But it need a long time to occur, thus people who are suffered from mesothelioma are the ones who are exposed to asbestos for a long time in their lives. The cancer eventually causes fluid to be collected around the lung and the abdomen.
